Our founder, Pere Miquel Carreras, trained in the Basque Country, cooking alongside true masters like Elkano and Astillero.
The history of Les Corones is deeply linked to the Basque Country. Pere Miquel Carreras traveled to Getaria to train in the technique of grilling fish. There he learned from the masters of the renowned restaurants Elkano and Astillero. It was also there that he commissioned a custom-made grill, which you can see today at Les Corones. The besugueres (fish grilling racks) also come from the same place.
The grilled fish cooking technique results in fish with exceptional texture and taste. This is thanks, above all, to Pere Miquel Carreras’ contribution and personal touch to this technique. This has allowed us to be recommended in the Michelin Guide, a recognition of our dedication and commitment to seeking excellence in offering a good product and good service.
We apply just the right amount of heat to express authentic flavors.
Specializing in grilled fish, we offer a selection of dishes that highlight the authentic flavors of the sea. Whether with fish from our nearest coast or from colder seas but of the highest quality and freshness, we pay attention to every detail of the cooking. We can also offer, by prior request, fish that are not normally on the menu but that we occasionally find in our local waters. And we also offer a good selection of meat, grilled or cooked Empordà style.
We make our own desserts that you can taste, but you will also find some from artisan producers in our area. In addition, we have an outstanding wine list, with special attention to DO Empordà wines, perfect to accompany our dishes.
Our restaurant is ideal for an adult audience who appreciates quality gastronomy to enjoy in a tranquil setting.
We like to offer products that originate in our local area. This includes sustainable fishing products from our Empordà coast, or from within or around the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park. We are also strong advocates for our DO Empordà and quality wines produced nearby.
For some time now, we have also been working on our commitment to sustainability, applying the principles of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, to which we are adhered through the Natural Park. We also have our own initiatives such as reducing energy and water consumption, as well as waste. Thanks to this work, in 2025 we were recognized as one of the 10 most sustainable restaurants on the peninsular coasts.

No surprises here: exceptionally fresh fish, prepared with a unique touch that guarantees unparalleled flavors.
We had a lovely meal here whilst staying on a nearby campsite our host who I think was the proprietor was absolutely charming and spoke excellent English. We had the grilled fish and it was fantastic, we were shown the fish prior to cooking and it looked super fresh. There was a huge variety of local wines on offer and our host recommended a lovely wine which complemented our meal perfectly.
