Award for commitment to sustainability at Les Corones
Les Corones Restaurant, specializing in grilled fish, has been recognized for its commitment to environmental management. The award was granted among restaurants on the coasts of Andalusia, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Balearic Islands, Region of Murcia, and Cantabria. We are committed to offering a unique culinary experience for lovers of fine cuisine and good wines. And also to sustainability. That’s why, at the time, we opted for quality plans. Recently, we have adhered to the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism. A charter associated with the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park and a commitment to good environmental practices.
The establishments awarded for their commitment to sustainability and the environment are Surla (Tarifa, Cadiz), El Farillo (Motril, Granada), and La Cova (Ayamonte, Huelva), in Andalusia; Caterina (Gavà, Barcelona) and Les Corones (Torroella de Montgrí, Girona), in Catalonia; Baobab Soul Kitchen & Bar (Sant Joan Platja, Alicante) and Rubén Miralles (Vinaròs, Castelló), in the Valencian Community; Can Mimosa Ibiza (Santa Eulària des Riu, Ibiza), in the Balearic Islands; CP8 (Cap de Pals, Cartagena, Murcia), in the Region of Murcia; and La Torre by Marañón (Galí, Cantabria), in Cantabria. In this sixth edition of #MovimientoBanderasVerdes, Ecovidrio has involved over 15,000 hospitality professionals from 180 municipalities in Andalusia, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, the Region of Murcia, and, as a novelty this year, Cantabria.
Recommended restaurant in the Michelin Guide
In this new edition, the awarded hospitality professionals will enjoy an exclusive Master Class and a tasting of various dishes led by renowned chef Ricard Camarena, who holds two Michelin stars. The history of Les Corones is deeply linked to the Basque Country. Pere Miquel Carreras traveled to Getaria to train in the technique of grilling fish. There he learned from the masters of the renowned restaurants Elkano and Astillero. It was also there that he commissioned a custom-made grill, which is the one you can see today at Les Corones. The sea bream grills also come from the same place. Recognized for its gastronomic quality, for several years now we have appeared as a recommended restaurant in the Michelin Guide.
Ecovidrio has awarded the ten most responsible hospitality establishments committed to sustainability on the Spanish coasts. This award is part of #MovimientoBanderasVerdes, the renowned summer campaign by Ecovidrio that recognizes the efforts of local hospitality and the activism of coastal municipalities for circularity during the summer, especially regarding correct waste management.
